Our vines are rooted in soils shaped by the area’s geological history: clay soils over limestone bedrock, soils of silt and clay with a very high concentration of flint, and silty soils scattered with iron-rich flint.

A wide variety of native vineyard weeds, with their different root systems, helps sustain life in these soils. This vegetation provides food and shelter for beneficial wildlife while adding to the beauty of the landscape.

To respect this balance, we keep our work in the vineyard gentle and to a minimum, preserving the soil’s fertility and stability.
